Discover a true alpine oasis

According to Condé Nast Traveller the Stanglwirt is among the 142 best hotels in the world – indeed the five-star resort is the only Austrian hotel to be listed on the publication’s ‘Gold List’. The history is remarkable. Guests have been welcomed to the hotel by the Hauser family ever since 1722 when the hotel was first an inn and farm. Even back then, Tyrolean hospitality was synonymous with the Stanglwirt name.

The hotel’s luxurious facilities cover twelve hectares. Wholesome organic food is produced on the surrounding 100 hectare farm, while the legendary Stanglwirt mountain cheese matures in its own alpine dairy. The hotel has 171 rooms and suites on offer, each fitted in charming Tyrolean style and finished in natural materials, such as Swiss stone pine wood and fabrics made from pure sheep’s wool, linen and cotton.

Relax with views of the Kaiser mountains

The Wilder Kaiser region is not only a stunning excursion destination but also home to a world-class spa. The Stanglwirt’s wellbeing oasis is made all the more special through its use of Kaiser stone, which forms an intriguing array of grottos, caves and waterfalls. The resort is undergoing a refurbishment to extend its range of facilities.

The hotel is currently home to one of Europe’s biggest brine pools. It measures 210 sqm indoors and outdoors with a temperature of 36°C, which was opened in 2012. It also has as an international 25 m swimming pool, complete with Omega time measurement. It also has two areas with open fireplaces and luxurious loungers, to relax down after your workout. Guests can also enjoy a spacious sauna with panoramic views to the Kaiser mountains. Outside there is a natural swimming lake where you can dive into crystal clear mountain spring water. In 2015 the 1,000 sqm Children’s Waterworld was opened, offering kids endless fun, including a 120 meter water-slide that offers stunning panoramic views.

Activities holiday in the Kitzbüheler Alps

The wide range of leisure activities on offer includes eight outdoor and six indoor tennis courts. Run by the renowned Peter Burwash International tennis school this makes the Stanglwirt one of the most highly regarded tennis resorts in Europe. In the fitness garden guests get to take part in complimentary courses, including pilates and yoga, with guidance from professional fitness coaches.

Keen horse-riders will be inspired by the sophisticated Lipizzaner horses from the hotel’s own private stud farm. In winter the Stanglwirt ski school organises daily ski safaris to the fantastic areas of SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental and the Kitzbühel/Kirchberg ski area.
